Lauren Hunkin Named CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for June

Ottawa, Ontario --- Jump Canada has named Lauren Hunkin the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for June.

Hunkin of Caledon, ON, scored back-to-back Grand Prix victories in the month of June during two weeks of show jumping competition held at Beaulieu's Summer Classics I & II in Ste-Justine de Newton, Quebec.

On June 22, at the Beaulieu’s Summer Classic I Horse Show, Hunkin scored her first career Grand Prix victory with Larry 0146, a 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding owned by Synergy Farm. She bested a field of 24 starters to win the $25,000 Grand Prix by posting the fastest double clear round.

One week later, on June 29, Hunkin and Larry 0146 repeated their winning ways by again jumping double clear in the fastest time in the $25,000 Grand Prix at the Beaulieu's Summer Classic II.

“I am extremely happy with Larry. He is a fantastic partner and a great horse,” remarked Hunkin. “I would like to thank CAVALOR for supporting our sport.”

As the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for June, Hunkin receives a gift certificate from the title sponsor CAVALOR Canada.
