Canadian Show Jumping Teams Ready to Compete at 2008 North American

Junior and Young Riders’ Championships

Ottawa, ON --- Jump Canada is pleased to announce the teams that will represent Canada at the 2008 CN North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championship (NAJYRC) to be held at The Colorado Horse Park in Parker, CO, from July 29–August 3, 2008. Two divisions, Junior (open to riders aged 14 to 18) and Young Rider (for riders ages 16-21), will compete for top team and individual honours.

The Young Riders’ teams are as follows:

In addition, two British Columbia riders will compete as individuals.  Sydney Chapman of Duncan will compete with her horse, Cassandra BZ, while Jean-Nicholas Goyette of Fort Langley will be partnered with his horse, Gigolo.

Rachel Schnurr of Waterloo, ON, riding her horse, Magic Jumper, will compete as an individual.
 
This will mark the third time that a Junior Championship is being held in conjunction with a Young Rider Championship, and this addition has proven to make for an exciting competition.
 
In 2007, Canadian Show Jumping riders enjoyed success at the NAJYRC with the Alberta Young Riders’ Team and Quebec Junior Team both winning the Team Silver Medal in their respective divisions.
