Equine Project Needs Your Input
October 30, 2008
Strathcona County, AB --- A wonderful initiative is underway in Strathcona County, Alberta that could have wide-ranging benefits for recreational and competitive horse owners! Regardless of your location, if you are interested in competing in Alberta, your response could provide valuable input for this future endeavour.
The Josephburg Agricultural Society, a non-profit organization, is hosting a project known as: Green Hectares. The intent of the project is to increase and improve agricultural knowledge by delivering opportunities to learn, teach, meet and compete. The commitment is to:
• Showcase the industry
• Serve the producer
• Inspire the student
• Cultivate relationships, and
• Enlighten the community
The intent is to achieve this through accessible, interactive facilities which incorporate new and proven technologies.
There are many facets to the agriculture experience and planning is essential for a viable future in agriculture. Strathcona County has been called 'the horse capital of Canada' and, as such, a premium quality facility that could accommodate equine use for recreational and competitive use might be very welcome.
For this reason, Strathcona County and Green Hectares project leaders are studying needs related to equine activities in the County. Your input is appreciated. If you could take a few minutes to complete a short survey regarding your thoughts and opinions on the needs of the equine industry, please click on the following link to open the equine survey in a web browser.
The input you provide through the completion of this survey will be used to determine whether or not additional equestrian facilities and programs/services are required in Strathcona County. The project leaders want to ensure they hear from as many horse owners as possible and ask that you pass this information along to anyone else you feel may be interested in providing input. If you do not reside in Strathcona County, they still look forward to your feedback and thank you for participating.
