Jennifer Miller Wins CCI 1* While Kerry Johnston and Sabrina Levere place in top ten in CCI 2*

at Galway Downs Three Day Event

Ottawa, ON --- British Columbia natives Kerry Johnston, of Summerland, and Sabrina Levere of Burnaby, finished in the top ten in the CCI 2*division, while Jennifer Miller of Hudson, QC, and now based in Cave Creek, AZ, won CCI 1* division at the 10th Annual Galway Downs Three Day Event, held October 30 to November 2, in Temecula, CA.

Johnston was the top Canadian rider with Warrick, her 10-year-old Canadian Warmblood stallion. Sitting in 11th place after dressage, in the field of 17 starters, with a score of 57.5, Johnston had a fault-free ride performances in both cross-country show jumping to finish on her dressage score, which was good for second place overall barely a point out of first place.

“Warrick was great. I was happy with his dressage score,” remarked Johnston. “Ian Stark always designs a good, challenging cross-country course, and we did all the direct routes. I would like to thank my long-time coach, Therese Washtock.”

Levere, with Hypona Nicodemus, Gerda Glaser’s seven-year-old Rheinlander gelding, was standing in ninth place, after dressage, on a score of 56.9. The pair recorded a fault-free ride on cross-country and had two rails in the show jumping round, for eight faults, to finish with a score of 64.9, which was good for eighth place overall.

“Hypona Nicodemus is still a young horse,” noted Levere. “He did not have a bad fence on cross-country. I hope we will move on to bigger and better things.”

American Anna Collier and Uppercrust D won the CCI 2* division with a score of 56.2.

In the CCI* classic format division, Miller and her eight-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Jeepers, won by finishing on their dressage score of 48.9. Miller a full-time veterinarian recently returned from the 2008 Olympic Games having served the Canadian Dressage Team. Young Rider Marina Parapini of Dewdney, BC, and her 10-year-old Canadian Thoroughbred mare Femme Fatale completed their first three-day event in 13th place on a score of 92.6.

“My horse was exceptional, and he had a lot of fun,” said Miller of her home bred horse Jeepers. “He is very enthusiastic about his job, and I am fortunate to have such a nice horse.”

Competing in the CCI 1* Olympic format division was 2004 Olympian, Hawley Bennett, of Langley, BC, who finished in 19th place riding Susan G. Church’s Canadian Spy, a nine-year-old Canadian Thoroughbred gelding.

American Robyn Fisher won the CCI* without steeplechase division with Lady Calido on a score of 43.9.
